i know what your saying, cheapest cars ans popular for the first timers are usualy fiestas ect ect, any first car is dear on insurance unless you go on your mum, dads, or nans ect to insure yourself you could be looking around 2k insurance.

you can get the mg-zr in a 1.4, you can get insured on it as a first car but it is dear.

on the mg's or rovers, there a little bearing on the back on the inlet manifold, that jams up and causes the pump to go and blows the gasket bending valves ect, all you do is when repair the head damage and pump, put a long screw driver up back of the inlet to the bearing and hit it out.....if theres no bearing theres no way of it blocking anything ;)

    jap, british or german, easily.

build quality is good, bits dont falls off and theyre nice and simple to work on.

aftermarket parts availability can be slack/expensive, which means custom parts are often the best choice, built, not bought ;)

just as a sidenote, i HATE golfs, mk 1, 2 or 3, everyone buys one, dresses it as a GTi, makes it look "wicked mate, slammed, euro style" and then sits it in a car show looking the same as every other golf, my opinion, but "euro style" can get down on its knees and accept it.

after chatting to minor, mini's are sick cars and relatively project friendly. small jap cars, same thing, easy to work on, and fun to drive, none of this plastic body kit 6ft spoiler "1nduc10nzzzzz k1tzzz" and an exhaust which flows 20 times the CFM the motor can handle.

your choice mate, i'm only in worthing so i can keep an eye out if u like, i been driving since the beginning of the year so i know where you're at sorta.

yeh, because that golf clearly looks the same as the golf next to, behind, and infront of it.

golfs are samey and everyone mods them exactly the same, in a struggle to be different.

swifts look good standard, sit a standard golf next to a standard swift, then see which is nicer, putting a modded car against a standard car is silly childsplay.

maybe swifts are girls cars, but how do you know i'm not a girl ;)

and by my workings out sam, my car is faster and better looking then yours, because, shock horror, you dont have one.

i think euro style is shit because what is euro style? explain to me what it is, its like people buy a car, then buy a list of parts to make it "euro style" its so annoying.

"bruv, my car is euro style, its better"

what, do you get a fucking certificate to put on the car when its finished?

    load of arse.

swift if you had any idea youd understand euro is about subtle styling and whilst a lot of people keep golfs in original condition, there is some uniqueness to euro cars but no fibreglass tat.

and my grandads rover that i drive would probably be faster, im saving at the mo, could always buy a swift off ebay for £50 if i was desperate LOL
