Gilera Runner - Wiring Loom 50 to 125

Hi, I’m wondering if a Gilera runner sp50 wiring loom will work if I put it on a runner sp125 ? I am buying a gilera 125 from a friend and he says that the electrics don’t work but he has a spare 50cc wiring loom that I can have with it, he said the only thing I would need to do is change is the cdi and it will work the same. Is this correct ?

cdi is different, reg/rec is different from the 50 to the 125

 

So I could use the wiring loom from the 50 ? But put the 125 cdi and 125 reg/rec ?

No, the connections are different. You'd have to rewire the lot.
And the ignition curve is different in the 125 CDI.
Best to look for a 125 loom, preferably complete with all the bits because buying them individually can be expensive.

 

Okay. Thank you, I will try and repair the wiring that is on there now. If I don’t have any luck I will find a different 125 loom. Thanks for the help
