Quick question. Only having a provisional, am i able to ride a 50cc moped without taking any tests or do i have to take a CBT test even to get on the road?
ideally looking to get 125cc in the long run but just wondering...
if your 17 then after passing your cbt you can go and get a 125 but if your only 16 its going to be a 50 , why buy a cheap unknown scoot when some dealers are doing interest free deals

Well im 27 and think im going to get my CBT done and then buy a 125cc. Just never rode a moped/scooter before but wanted one for a long time and travelling around London on busy rush hour times on the underground are starting to bother me..
Just need to find a reasonable/reliable dealer in London.

Try doing it on the busses 4-6 hours a day at times.-
Aim for a secondhand Japanese scooter like a Honda or Yamaha prob.be your best bet.,might be best to up your price range a bit/if possible (c500ish) as too low you'd be heading to being a spanner monkey 'sted of a rider..
You can ride a 50cc MOPED restricted to 31mph at 16.
You can ride a 125cc at 17 with a CBT. You can also take your full licence at 17 (A1) but you would be restricted to 125cc.
You can ride 125cc + aged 19 and over after completing module 1 and 2 on a A2 machine.
