maybe no point but tis different to all the same old 172 typhs n shtoof? wouldnt be a speed bike just a chugger thats reliable
or buy a zip 125? the zip engine would fit in a typh but the extra weight of the bike would deem it too slow for practical use. plus it would be such a close spec to the zip it would be like making 2 bikes for the same market, costs more than a zip to build and would be slower. the weight and size of the 4v wc 4 stroke engine means it wouldent be feasable to fit into a typhoon and still go round corners. this is why you wont see one anytime soon (well, unless its a 50) but we all know 50 4 strokes are the most pointless thing on the planet. well, unless of course your in your late 60's and want somthing to run down the post office for your gyro...
nah, its fairly relevent... nothing really addable to this thread as its nothing particularly indepth a shop having a part in stock LOL but ye, made me ALOT happier to know aslong as theres a pre 03 scooter sitting in a scrappy/for sale add i can build a 172 monster.
lol yeat 4t's suck i thought all the new 50s were 4t when i was last in the shop all the pipes look the same lol and graham talking about pre 03 bikes you wanna buy a nrg my breakers has one in needs forks tho
yup yup there new shape so take the 200mm drum wheel (runner or new shape typhoon) or can have a caliper by just removing the pin and slinging a hub/caliper on there. cant go wrong. casting is ether original or a verry goodf copy of the original taken from a mould of an original engine as the casting overlap's/seams are the same. the stock cases aint exactly the best quality metal ether so even if they are reproduction you cant really go wrong, id like to get a set and cut em, see how they grind and simply weigh them next to dry'd originals just to see the diff.. but ye, this alone means theres somone ether scorcing or producing them, so ye, no more fears of engines one day running out/becomming rare to the point of being priceless :yahoo:
ye, but if it is a copy it will be a copy of the original.. so the piggy mark would still be there it DOES look original, but dont count on it. all im saying a copy is a copy, they wont take off original markings just because its a copy.. i have a few minimoto engines that are copy's.. still have bzm/blata/polini casting marks and numbers on them
I have found 2 types of castings. 1:Engine casing -PIAGGIO- Piaggio Skipper 125-150cc (ZAPM12, ZAPM13) This is the perfect starting point for every rebuild: a brand new OEM engine casing. Here you will find true to size bearing seats. The threads are in perfect working order and give secure holding. There hasn’t been any improper welding so all the gasket surfaces are plane and give a perfect sealing. OEM Piaggio: 8262135 Looks like the new type with BIG drum. 2:Engine casing -PIAGGIO- Piaggio TPH 125 (ZAPM02) This is the perfect starting point for every rebuild: a brand new OEM engine casing. Here you will find true to size bearing seats. The threads are in perfect working order and give secure holding. There hasn’t been any improper welding so all the gasket surfaces are plane and give a perfect sealing. OEM Piaggio: 8257965 Looks like the old one, whith the small drum?
