as long as the impact wrench is 1/2" drive, then you can use any 1/2" drive socket on the impact gun it varies slightly from scoot to scoot but the variator/clutch and stator nut on the piggy 50 engine is 15mm
Ive just tried to change my rollers. I took all the bolts off the engine casing and wriggled it loose but it wont come off, its getin caught or something. It has alittle bit of give wither way but it wont come off and it wont go back on either Anybody know what i can do? Thanks Jase
nah nah nah!! impact drive sockets are different to normal 1/2" drive sockets - the normal ones tend to shatter, happens with my impact gun. you can get them cheap, i got a 24v one with 2 batteries, 1 hour fast charger, 15, 17, 19, 21 size impact sockets for only £60 upto 300ishnm which is fine for most car nuts, variator nuts, clutch nuts etc.
i got the case off, it was caught on the kick start, it s a bit rusty and needs some effort to get it through, Put my new rollers in got the belt on but after that realised the kick start was out of place. when ever i get it to where i think it needs to go, i try and put the case back on but because its such a tight fit through the gap it disrupts it again.
Do you reacon it would be alright if i used my dremel to sand away a tiny bit off the diameter of the kickstart pole?
just sand with 800 sandpaper till the surface rust is off.. they tend to swell when they rust so take all the rust off and it should slide in.. bit of grease on there when you re assemble
As said impact sockets are tougher than your normal sockets. You can buy them individually for a couple of quid or get a whole set if you want
the on i bought came with 4 and luckly my vairiator nut was 19mm so it fitted fine with the ones that came with it.
So i sanded the kick start down but it still wouldnt fit because when ever i had it placed right, and put the case back on, the kick start pole would be at the wrong angle so as soon as i moved the case to the bolt holes its fell out of place. Eventually after trying for ages the kickstart gear fell off and i cant get it back in, and this bit came out too. Do i need them in there if i dont intend on using the kick start?
After reading up on this site and other site, i am starting to think that my problem is my main jet. Seen as the bike is completely standard im guessing it has just vibrated loose. Ive read a post on here that says its best to remove the carb rather than try and work around it where it is. But after ive got the carb out is when i think my knoledge runs out. I obviously take the float bowl off and im guessin its a couple screws. But theres a lot of talk about float needles and i dont quite know what i do with them, or once ive got to the jet do i just tighten it as much as possible or do u treat it like the idle screw and find where its best placed? Sorry of it been covered before but i had a good look here and other site and couldnt find anything. Thanks Jase
take the flaot bowl off and the main jets the big flat sided screwdriver screw right in the middle , tighten it but dont overtighten it , it shldnt need any excessive force to have it fitted proerley leave the floats and other junk you wont have to worry about that tbh ive never heard of main jets coming loose sounds a bit dodgy to me
well thats just what i think but i have no experience so im probably wrong. So once the bowls off and the jets in i leave the rest of it off and test ride it then? if its sort obviosuly put the stuff back on. is it a fiddly job? all the talk of needles and slides put me off a bit but not as much as a big repair bill lol Cheers
no lol , to get to the main jet all you need to take of is the float bowl , aeverything else should be untouched and left in place, after you check whack the float bowl back on and off you go
oh cool, didnt realise it all came off in one, so if im not messing with the float bowl all that crap stays intacked. Nice ones, cheers
the float bowls just a bowl of metal or plastic that hold all the petrol in the carb , just take it off to access the main jet , the float and needle jet are on the body of the carb and wont come out unless you remove them seperatley this is a diagram for a aerox carb but all carbs have the same sort of design , its just to give give you an idea of what youl be dealing with http://www.easyparts.nl/showdrawing/236 ... retor.html
lol brill, cheers. I think u still had the URL for the other topic about the ristrictions on ur clipboard cus thats a ignition coil on the link lol
