cheaper than a car engine, my standard rate is £100 plus parts
try get hold of the newer engine. went the engine to wobbly and co for rebuild then drop it in.

thanks for puttin the topic in the right place wobbles
£100 seems a fair price, i know how much of a brain ache it is to do it so i would be happy paying that + parts

i'm thinking of starting an exchange service so you send the parts you want fitting, i build one of my spare engines to your spec then swap directly so your'e not without a bike
to buy a new engine and get it rebuilt is just too much, im not made of money  for new engine + rebuild is gonna cost about £300+ i could buy another bike for that lol would rarther just get this one done.
how many miles roughtly does the pump fail on these engines? mines nearly at 20k, had the same owner for 10 years but sat for about 2-3 years

ahh i thought it was the pump because on my last runner it just pissed the water back out....maybe it just done the seals in?
my bikes abit smokey (white smoke) think its because it hasnt run for a few years because its calmed down now since ive run it, think il buy myself a belt and see how it goes + to be safe

sorry, thought we were on about the oil pump DUH!
nah the water pump is quite a common fault on them, hence why i replace them whenever im rebuilding an engine. i know of a few that have gone but only after excessive milage and abuse.

lol yeah sorry i ment water pump i should have been more clear in my post, i dont need the bike for another 2 months yet anyway so in that time il just buy whats needed that way i dont have to try and find money for the bits in the last minute, if your gonna start that engine swap thingy that you was saying before that would be much easyier
