    Hi,

I'm ressurecting my CW50 from the garage shortly and have bought an EGT gauge to help me monitor running.

Has anyone fitted one of these before and can tell me where the probe should be drilled into the exhaust?

I have read 100mm from the piston skirt on other sites - does this sound right?

Sounds overly complicated for a 2 stroke moped.
    Any reason why?
I think as long as you get it on the downpipe before the silencer you should get a good reading

Partly to help with tuning (indicator of running lean) and partly to see how it works for my own interest.

I read if its too close to the piston any exhaust of fuel might cool the gauge giving a false reading.

100 seems to be the concensus on most forums so i'll try that

    Thanks!
