I remeber reading somewhere that the recon they could extract nearly 20bhp out the the yzf-125 engine with some tunning. My mate has one with a scorpian pipe and a few other bits he says he had 90 out of it and I would believe him it seems pretty brisk also it does sounds amazing with the pipe on it a lot better than any 2t. He took it to bassets pole and i am being honest it sounded nicer than a lot of the 600's and 1000's and it drew a big crowd it looks a lot bigger than a 125 also it is rather nice in the twisties. Personally I wanted to buy one myself but my parents banned me from a motorbike but I liked how it offers nearly the performance of a 2t but with 4t reliability and 90mpg For me it is the best 125 on sale in the united kingdom I would choose it over a rs125 any day as although it is a bit slower it does not have any of the reliabilty problems he has clocked up nearly 4000 miles without any problems.
Get the new WR125 if your gonna buy a brand new 4 stroke. Uses the same engine as the YZF-R125, but looks a hell of alot better
for the record my dt will do 85 on 16/54 gearing piss any small car up till about 65 - 70, even mine wich is about 80bhp andHAHA...??? will definately piss a 125 4t fairing or not, you r having a laugh if you think one of those little yzf 125s will touch that on acceleration... redline is limited to 12k, has semi - road / trail tyres so its now ok for both conditions unless theres severe rain in offroad returns 60mpg, which is good. gets alot of attention and sounds sweet and its not a road crosser its a TRAIL fucking BIKE, not even based on a yz....... the yz didnt even replace the DT... it replaced the IT (fucking awsome bikes) the dtr replACED the mk 1/2 and 3rd DT125LC dt are good bikes for a bit on fun, fuck me its a 125 for christ sake your suposed to rag the shit out of it and have fun not expect wheelying every gear like a crosser its a good trail bike nuff said. like fuck would i touch a shity 4t 125 what a waste of my fucking time o my days ...... dont get me started and wr125? wtf single cylinder4t injection.... come the fuck on....
redline and peak power are totally different things... my 70 beats a car.. its not hard is it. 80bhp is shit for a ton of steel.... everyone who owns a dt will defend them.. this is just like the leo pipe argument. stupid waste of time.. a crosser is made for motorcross... a bike is made for the road. end of
i know a group of lads with dt's mx'x rs's and a r125 and wr125 and they all say they like the r125 onroad. and out of all that group of lads the 4t's havent had and engine parts replaced unlike the 2t's. id still prefer some old jap 4t sumat reliable cheap and fun (if i had to have a geard 125)
