looking for some advice please my son has just bought a dna 50 and he fiited an arrow exhaust my question is what card/air filter set up would go best as when he fitted an open flow filter the bike would not rev i tried lifting the needle but no joy so does anyone have any suggestions as to what carb is needed and where can we get one from thanks dave (dad)

most people dont fit open filters to a 50cc, they can be more trouble than they are worth....and dont really give any worthwhile gains until youve fitted a 70 kit and bigger carb e.t.c.

The reason you had trouble with it revving is because you have to increase the main jet by aprox 8% with an open filter.

hi, was the exhaust brand new? any alterations to jetting already been made?
davebelton#4
hi no exhaust was not brand new but not that old tho carb was standard we put standard filter back on but still wont rev with exhaust fitted i looked at arrow site and think it may be a 125 type exhaust as it does not list 50 dna any links to suggested carb/exhaust set up's would helpful cheers dave

try sticking some lighter rollers in and upjetting by 8-10%

the roller size is 19x15.5 and you will probably want to go down aboug 1.5grams from your standard (try weighing what you have in there at the moment)

does any one know what the standard wieght of dna rollers is ? and what size standard jet is ?
Sw1fT#7
7.5 grams according to beedspeed

and the standard jet can be found by opening up your carb and having a look

ok been doing some research and they recommennd 5 to 5.5 gram rollers from standard 7.5 grams 19x15.5mm
increase clutch spring tension
and increase pilot jet to 36 to 38 main jet 74 to 76
remove brass filter insert when useing aftermarket exhaust
finally remove washers from vario unit for 10 mph increase in top speed
what do you guys think
