old vid really.. turbo's are shit with a 2t.. too many complications an you need a disc valve to make any kind of power as the reeds tend to split to peices in a matter of mins. no ammount of rrestriction/control of flow will help with lag on a turbo especially as the turbo unit must sit past the expantion chamber.. superchargers on the other hand are relativly easy to use.. just time the pulses to the engine rpm with the right size pulleys and bang in some HARD reeds an it will run. belt can be driven straight off the mag side of the crank so no extra load on anything really as it evens the side load the length of the crank produces. then just bolt the compressor to the engine somwhere.
One of my mates put a roots type supercharger on an old 550 jetski. I think it was an aircraft cabin blower off a smallish pressurised cabin piston engine plane. It instantly ate it's reeds but still ran with a slight decrease in bottom end. Was a cunt to start though but silly fast. I have seen turbo outboards but were retired for the reasons that minor said.
easiest supercharger to find for small capacity engines is a smog pump off any 70's yank.. play with the pulleys and it works really well. might be worth a try in the future but id prefer a disc valve if i was to do it wich is alot of machining.. mabey use a diuff barrel with a piston shutoff altho this would probably bend the piston or kill the front side of the barrel.
i'd try it if i had a spare minarelli block lying around.. it'd b a hell of a project to do tho.. WOW!! :w00t:
