    Basic things to check,

    1) have you stripped and cleaned the carb?
    2) filters checked for crap?
    3) does it idle at all ? give the carb a tap with a rubber mallet. May sound stupid but float needle may be stuck.
    4) dont set fire to it!

They may be cheaply built but they are scrappy little buggers with some soul to them and when running well love the nutts thraped off their little two strokes;) . reliability can be had but you will have to do work on it for that :)

There are times when I would love nothing more than to set fire to it:mad: but I have developed a strange affinity for my 100CC SpeedFight, mainly based around the fact that despite its issues its never more than a spanner and £50 away from resurrection. It just wont quit :D

luckily they are VERY simple bikes. Even a village idiot like me can handle it (all be it slowly) So you should have no problem if your willing to put the effort in for her. :)

If not, go buy a Honda. sedate, expensive, average, but reliable:cool: . Or an Aerox? and be like everyone else:D . Or a Gilera, and stare at its beauty but never drive it anywhere as much like an alpha romeo it wont make it to the next street without breaking.

Pluses and minuses with all. :)

I have a feeling what it could be and this is karma, bad petrol? there wasn't much that I had put in just enough to last me It was lying round in my grandas garage for his lawn mower and strimmer so thinking its probably old! might be a problem.

My problem first arose on the way to college it cut out three times I though that may have just been because it was wet and I'm missing the pipe that goes onto my airbox.

It would not start after college, would try but would not fire checked my wiring all fine, I thought with it being damp water might have gotten into the float chamber- so I undone the screw to drain it, then I believe i cracked the the float chamber casing oops so got a new one on the way.

ordered a new ht coil plug and plug cap not to fussed if thats not what the problem is atleast its new parts going on.

    sso to answer your questions.
    1) no, haha planning on doing that in the morning as I'm not in a huff with her now.
2)air filter was quite dirty going to order a new insert and the pipe I am missing when i have the money
3)It wouldn't start when i tried yesterday bar once it fired up then died with a back fire(probs from the flooding)
    4) I'll try not to!

To be honest If, I wasn't in a huff with her I could have diagnosed the problem properly by having a look at it, but never mind atleast I knew the plug ht lead and coil are being renewed.

I'm going to have a tinker on with tomorrow before rugby and hopefully get it sorted.

going to strip the carb down and clean it(would there be any complications after taking jets out to clean)

going to check fuel filter for crap

I still have a gut feeling It's that petrol I "borrowed" off my granda serves myself right if it is!

if the petrol is very old god only knows whats in it. probably components of what ever it was stored in too. Personally I would go buy some fresh fuel in a jerry can (£3 at asda for petrol cans at the mo) then take your vacuum tap off the underside of your petrol tank, and tip the bike to that side, drain as much out as you can.

Chuck a dribble of fresh fuel in, give it a shake and pour it out too. Pop your tap back on, refill the tank with fresh fuel.

Next check your in line fuel filter for crap / sediment, if you see any, replace the filter, they are about £5.

next, take the carb apart, unscrew all jets, buy a can of spray air(Raymans stationary stores, £5.99) and blast the hell out of everything. pop it all back together. pay attention to how it goes together, dont miss anything, it may kill you. :D

charge up your ped battery, plug back in and turn her over.

    Good luck

alright cleaned the carb up, no dirt in fuel filter fuel seemed alright.

I poured some fuel down the bore with a little bit oil and it ran straight away.

The fuel leak i had was a big crack in the float bowl, I ordered a new one and I realised it was the wrong one.
I had already opened the packet so I'm not sure if i can return it or not.

So now I'm looking for a new float bowl but I cannot find one for my carb I thought it was a dellorotto one but says gurtner on it so I am unsure.

    cheers

They probably sent you the wrong one, might be able to get it exchanged providing you haven't butchered the packet too much :p
