Cleaned carb but now having problems starting

By the left...quick march...1 step forward..2 steps back...your gonna end up with enough parts to make another bike at this rate..maybe we should start doing one on here with donated broken faulty parts.hopefully by Monday night your problems will be over..I'm rooting for ya.

Alright mate the Petcock come today and it wasn't that it's still pissing petrol into the airbox any ideas what it could be? Thinking about taking it the shop now like

 

Theres only two pipes that you can do anything with and I'm sure you've tried them both ways..if the petrol is coming out of the tap with no vacuum added then you can only try it the other way round and if the new tap is working ..it should be shutting off the petrol.you might have a duff tap,again!!

 

Unless you some how got the carb over flow pipe connected to the manifold and the carb is filling it from a dodgy float.from what you was saying the other day ...I can't see you making that mistake.the tank pipes go...1 to the manifold(vacuum) 2 petrol out to carb side.air filter should have a fat pipe from the head to it.any other pipes are the over flow and the drain pipe and they go to fresh air.unless the overflow on yours is going into but not connected to the air box..then its the carb thats spitting out its dummy still

 

When mine was leaking into the airbox it turned out to be a split in the inlet manifold

 

There is some one on here with a manifold split and taped up...helping so many people that I'm loosing track..but this problem shouldn't be happening cos the petrol should be off with no vacuum AND the carb float shutting off...if indeed the carb is working.I've had a leaky carb i couldnt fix no matter what I tried so I replaced it..

 

Worth checking tho unless its already been checked

 

I sorted it mate there was a slit in the manifold pipe so I Gaffa taped it up to f@@k and it's fine think I've finally sorted it haha, gonna take it for a run now, will let you know how I get on. It's even idling good ))

 

Well there you go pdbv..buggered if ide have believed it..I can stop thinking now..enjoy..

 

It will have been sucking in more air through the split in the manifold

 

Worth getting a new one there only cheap

 

It was him with the split manifold...need to lay down in a dark room with a fat one...and some pink Floyd.

 

Bloody PEDs are so simple there complicating to think about..had less trouble stripping my gt 750 kettle and rebuilding it than these things

 

Appreciate the help mate it's running sound now. Gonna order a new 1 as the Gaffa tape won't last forever haha, got it insured today and need to take it for it's mot tomorrow but It should fly thru all the work I've done on it haha

having issues again with me scooter todasy, took it for its mot and it was working all sound, then on the way home it kept backfiring and cutting out on me, loosing power also! put it away for a bit and now i carnt get the fucker started.there is spark'compression and fuel getting into the carb as far as i can tell. kept trying to start it and while trying hear a BIG bang! dunno whats gone on so ive put it in the shed. any ideas mate?? feel like taking the hammer to it!!
