"Chink" eh... how nice of you.
You deserve to have been robbed for your money by the manufacturers.
    Shame

    cheers

haha yeh i know they get slagged off a hell of a lot, but i thought because of that id try and do them justice and make a nice one!

they arent too terrible, build quality is good and theyre not bad runners, but obviously nothing compared to a decent ped.

this put aside im still interested in modding one up

merely a nickname for it, no racist intentions or anything like that.

and if your going to say something try and back it up?
    as ive said

    no they arent sports peds
    no they arent fast
    no they arent popular

but thats what im trying to prove, that despite that they can still be made into alright little peds.

If you had introduced yourself first you wouldn't have got so much hostility.

As for your actual question you're pretty fucked. They have 4 stroke engines which are poor for tuning in the first place and due to this and of course their popularity no one bothers making performance parts for them.

    no suggestions then?
i knew it would be hard to do as they are 4stroke but surely it could be done?

well you could have the head gasfloed and larger valves machined in, get the barrel bored out to it's limit and get a piston to match.

best scoots for this are agility 50s. get a full tuning kit for £150

Anything can be done but it's just not a good idea. You would have to do all the work yourself and it still wouldn't be able to match a 2stroke scooter with one or two bolt on parts.

im not looking to match a 2stroke, im just wanting to get a little more out of it in all areas, and to do it all myself so i can take pride in my work.

if its a no hope then ill just keep it stock, but i think im gonna just go ahead and try and do as much as possible.

    thanks for the help

Rip the engine out and mod a 2 stroke piaggio engine into it? Now that would be one hell of a sleeper.

funnily enough i was going to put that up for debate,
although id much rather mod the 4stroke engine
just out of curiosity do you know anyone with a piaggio 2stroke engine for sale

I'd advise against this project altogether (sorry!)

Fasteners all over it will be junk. Frame will be flexy and the welding on it probably pretty poo. Plastics will be most probably be brittle. Tyre choice will be narrow. Electrics as above.

If your intentions are to make a bit of a sleeper, I'd try and get hold of a honda, Not the best looking scoots but japanese are a bit more advanced than the chinese equivalents, And spares should be easily available.

chineese scooters are often copys of leading brands, it will have a copy of a certian engine so a real one can be substituted. get some pics up and ill try and identify the engine. any project is worth a go. look at vespas afterall, frames are weak, forks bend, poor electrics and they rust. people still build them

dont be put off tho m8.

thanks minor, i cant say im not a little put off!

i know the engine is a 139qmb based on the honda engine, dont know if that helps?

im still looking into it, found a couple of sites that sell specific parts for these peds, 80cc cylinder, head, piston and camshaft for 94 quid haha.

they could be the same motor design as the kmco or the sym.
