finally some good news :) If the DVLA can admit the mistake and remove the 122 from my license, I can cancel the CBT with 24 hrs to spare lol.

Pity its been locked up in my yard for the past 7 days, I could have been out drag racing with people on push bikes :)

insurance company's can say anything to you that wont stand up in court by law its down to you to make sure your legal and saying the guy on the phone said saw aint gonna get you anywhere if your cbt has lapsed and your still riding round then yes you are riding without a licence which not only fucks you up with the cops it screws you up with any insurance you try getting in future for any vehicle

because in the town i live in, these people will tell you anything to get money out of you.

If the DVLA say that the info on their site is correct. Then my CBT is still valid and i dont need to speak to anyone, I can get on with riding my bike.

But that still leaves me with the issue of getting a replacement certificate, Im not sure if i'll still be on the system after so many years. but i'll also ring them and find out.

you can ride a geared motorbike at 17 on a cbt, just go on youtube and check out spicy110, he is using a 125 geared bike and he always replaces his cbt every two years.

Sorry for the late reply, The company I did my CBT with many years ago cannot get a replacement cause they liquidized, However I continued with the booked CBT today as planned.

I passed, But all of the Instructors said I MUST renew it every 2 years or do the full bike license within this time. However on the back of the actual CBT certificate it clearly says anyone with a full car license AND CBT has a FULL UK MOPED license which does not require to be retaken every 2 years.

Only if i have a provisional license must it be retaken, This applies to 50cc ONLY.

In 2 years time and I decide i want anything bigger than a 50cc I MUST redo a CBT, otherwise I can drive a 50cc for the rest of my license (50yrs)

Also, if you have a car license and CBT YOU DO NOT NEED L PLATES.

Forget what the instructors say, this info is on the back of the CBT certificate itself, so feel free to check it as it confirms everything mention on the gov.uk website which is linked a few posts back.

Good luck and happy riding :)
