Can anyone explain why my gilera runner 50 just will not drive in the wet? Whenever it rains, my bike will only go ike 10mph at the most, full throttle. The engine seems to be running fine. When i finally got home after pushing it along side me, i opened up the cvt cover and the pulleys were slightly wet. is it okay for these to get wet? it was like my bike was stuck in low gear so i was thinking the cvt was malfunctioning?

    is this the case?

    Thanks for any help!

is there a gasket between the case and cover of the cvt?

there isn't but surely there isn't supposed to be one as there are pretty big vent holes in the casing that water could easily get through...

this was one of the things I thought too!

well if you say the engine runs fine then i guess you somehow need to stop water coming into the pulleys. I have never had a bike like this but on my aerox there is a gasket and no visible holes for ventilation.

    Water in the airbox?
Or possibly the spark plug cap/ht lead
