need someone like me with tiny hands steve , little dremmel and a couple brass brush ends would soon get those inners down to bare metal why do you need activator lol, i would clear coat it now a one off bare metal machine would turn more heads than a semi naked santa claws lol
Insides good enough. I'll zinc coat it then underseal it as well before I topcoat the frame. Need activator for the 2k paint/primer/clearcoat. And HELL NO is it staying a bare frame. It was Rio Red when it was born, it'll be Rio Red when it's finished again.
Paint shop in the morning Got a 3 day weekend................... Got plenty of wood for the burner, will be a nice and toasty garage. I'm saying "the plan is" ............engine painted, frame/forks painted...............but you know what happens when I make plans And my mate picked up that Lambretta today.............
You know what I said about plans? Just came downstairs, the boiler is leaking onto the kitchen worktop
Boiler fixed, heating working as good as new. And he didn't charge me. That's friends. But then he has bought that Lambretta in bits............ On just as good a note, engine cases and side cases just finished having the second coat of primer, could well be in the first top coat later today. Going over to the neighbours later tonight, so might not do much tomorrow..............except nurse a sore head Happy New Year
hide your keys to workshop lol, you know what happens when you mix beer with ideas, you get pink spay jobs, because at the time it seemed an awesome idea.
Already told the mother not to turn up too early..............she comes over every week to do the cleaning and washing and ironing.............at the grand old age of 81
Engine all painted now, 2 coats primer, 3 top coats. Lacquer going on in the morning, I'll stick some pics on tomorrow when it's all nice and dry, if I remember.
Frame got 3 coats of high build primer on now. Little rub down tomorrow and a looksee, maybe into the first top coat. After I drop the car off for the MOT.................
Should be in it's laquer coat by tonight, provided I don't screw up the next 2 coats Then it'll get hung up out the way while I do the other stuff, like shotblasting the wheel hubs, painting those, then building the wheels. New rims/spokes/rim tape/tubes/tyres. Still have to rebuild the engine and forks, and sort out the bolt in the main stand that I had to cut the heads off.
That looks so much better now. How long till you have her in one piece ?. How are parts for it to source they easy to find?. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It'll be back together when it gets back together. I can't put a time on it because I just don't know. Other wordly stuff tends to get in the way sometimes. As for parts sourcing, friggin' nightmare. Indonesia, China, Thailand, India and a few bits from the UK
Not seen it yet but one I'm looking forward too. I'll wait until it comes on sky movies Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
2nd coat of laquer just gone on. I'm looking into my garage on one of the cctv cameras, looks like a Chinese smog storm inside Thank god for air fed full face masks
