Best 125cc scooter for short commutes??

Hi there, I'm new to the forum and would really appreciate some expert advice on buying my next scooter.

I have a 15 mile commute from home to the office, 50mph speed limit pretty much all the way.

At the moment I am using a cheap chinese 125cc as a stopgap, but this is about to die (not water cooled, can't cope with the journey), and I need to get something a bit more suitable for the daily commute...

What are your recommendations for a water cooled 125cc scooter that's fit for the A-roads?

I like the Yamaha X-Max or Honda SH, but a bit pricey, so looking at a Kymco Super Dink or an Aprilia Sportcity.

What about top speed? (do any of them hit 60mph)

Does wheel size make much of a difference? (e.g. a Suzuki Burgmann vs Honda SH)

All advice and opinions greatly appreciated

Aircooled engines are fine for your journeys, your engine may not cope because its cheaply made.. Chinese 125's rarely exceed 50-55mph flat out which is extreamly poor.

The Honda's and Yamaha 4 strokes are brilliant, so are the piaggio and gilera 4T 125cc scooters.

A Vespa LX125/ET4 would be good, or a skipper ST125.. If you must have liquid cooled its a no-brainer.. Gilera runner VX125/ST125 all the way!

A 4T aircooled 2 valve piaggio leader engine should propel you upto 60-65mph flat out, and will cruise nicely at 50mph all day long.

The 4 valve liquid cooled version found in the Gilera runners, vespa GTS etc.. Should see you to 70mph nicely.

i agree...runner all the way.
but the 125 four stroke fly is pretty good too
