    first thing done
yesterday battery was reading 6volts, just checked now and its holding 12volts, and when running its up to 14, so seems battery and alternator? are all ok

took it for its first trip up and down my backstreet :)
finding nuetral is a pain, but i presume that will be better once the electrics work and i get a N indicator on the dash :)
for my second go with gears i didnt do too bad, didnt kangaroo (my testicles loved me for that last time) but did find myself letting go of the clutch far too quick after a gear change

    Great mechanic (giggle),
Wait for the moment when you truly f..k it up - that well deflates the sails!. :D.,
1 down / neutral / 4 up I take it?,you'll know your getting fair used to a geared
bike when you're foots dancing on that lever according to how you feel!,
Chinese quality control an material usage ain't known for its.....durability. :) :) .,
seeing as your still fettling with it,why not take the time 1 overnight an have all
your cables off / hang them vertically / tape plastic bag around top an fill with
oil to proper lubricate them, may be a little messy but'll make them last longer an
minor cut down on long term costs.mk. ;) .

oo woah, i know i said i was turning into a mechanic, but i aint fannying around taking the loom out :) :)

even if it does sound like a good idea, atm ive found a very live wire under the dash. lol a bare live and ground just hanging there. have asked the step dad if he remembers anything about it but hes out atm, im hoping its a case of wire them two up and the kill switch (ignition) will work.

as for gears, yeah i think its the traditional 1 down neutral 4 up, but iirc i have hit neutral on the way down from 2nd

no point in lubricating them like that, if you can just spray some wd40 at both ends of outer cable and slide cable through a few times, not as thorough but will take a lot less effort than plastic bags + oil etc, a friend had one of these bikes, you might want to change the gear lever and rear brake lever for Honda ones, the ones on these have a tendancy to erm........ snap.
watch a few how to ride geared bikes on youtube, itll help lots, mordeth13`s one is the one that taught me how to ride geared, theres something about geared bikes that you cant get from a scooter but I guess its the same otherway round, theres something about scooters that you cant get from geared bikes :) have fun !

is the gears for these, same with most bikes, half click up for neutral, from 1st, should have a little green light on dash that should indicate neutral, take a pic of those wires and maybe we can help you out there ?

cheers mate, yeah i think the gearing is pretty much like that, its probably just me :) dash lights dont work (well apart from indicator ones)

gotta love mordeth :) seem to be watching quite a few vlogs lately

now back to my wiring. found a positive and negative, bare just hanging under the clocks, wired them up. woot electrics work
front brake switch is knackared, brake light and normal rear light seem opposite (brake light is duller than normal light so you cant see it).
only lights that work on dash are the indicator ones.

need to try and find a new dash i think, and work out the rest of the ignition barrel wiring so i can wire up a proper switch that might kill the engine and stop the electrics draining the battery.

    but coming along nicely :)

p.s thanks for the tip on the gear and brake levers, the gears do seem abit hard work to engage, gunna be fun :)

p.p.s the starter motor doesnt engage, meh kick start ftw

learnt ALOT from watching roadcraftnottinghams videos, and I mean ALOT.

with the rear brake light, try switching wires around, could be brake wires are attached to the light bulb instead of brake bulb if u get me, cg125 dash should work, no ignition? again cg125 barrel can be had very cheap, tbh ebay will be your best friend for parts, try wemoto.com too or chinesebikeparts.co.uk, change the gear oil, might be old oil making em hard to shift

got mordeth, baron, spicy and premesis all subscribed :) and find myself watching jennifers alot through my related vids :)
wires for rear lights, yeah i think they are just gunna need swapping round.
dash, ill just pick up the cheapest one i can cg125/hongdou/chituma/whatever :) and i doubt im gunna bother wiring up a barrel again, gunna wire up the positive and negative mains wires to a switch, then jsut gotta live with either stalling it to kill it, or find out a way to stop it

id honestly just get a used barrel, only cost like £5, better to have one than not to have one + If you sell on people would be hesitant about buying a bike with no barrel worth spending that £5, pretty much any barrel should work tbh aslong as its wired in right

difficult to select gears can be down to a tight chain. Check the tension with someone sat on the bike. If its tight theres a good chance thats part of the problem

Brake lights...yep, sounds like wires have been crossed

cable oiling...invaluable. BUT you dont have to start ripping everything off the bike...try one of these. Had mine years and swear by them. I've NEVER had to replace a cable thats been lubed with one of these and some thin engine oil...WD40..mmmm OK as a stop gap but its more for penetration than lubrication

If you're on a budget (Wemoto) do an aerosol clamp for cables (£4.66) or the more definitive luber like Mr.Stig listed at (£17.35),
go for the later if poss.better in the long run.mk. ;) .

also fuel tap, ideas of positions for on/reserve/off. i thought i had it in the off position but bike carried on running fine

put a switch in the live feed to the coil to use as a kill switch

as for the tap, whip the pipe off and turn the tap (when the engines cold)...you'll soon know where off is :D
