erm, right couldnt get my head round that after one read :)

i dont particularly wanna be cutting and shutting wires, as in 2 weeks the new barrel will be going on. and if as its gunna be failed on other bits anyway i may aswell wait till the barrel has turned up to re-test it (would rather it passed mind as i cba cycling to and from work for the next week)

had trouble getting my head round it writing it..fairly simple if i was doing it..just need to find the wires that feed into the switch and disconnect them and run the two wires on the kill side to the switch..or just put a simple press button switch on the bars and wire the two wires on for now till the barrels sorted.much simpler..ordered my replacement carb for mine so should have that on saturday.19mm jobby from extremeimport2.bet it wont fit the manifold though..but if it does and it works then happy days..if not..bugger...keep going..bigbore and variator next to sort if it works and then exhaust to cap it all off..never ending this moped lark..

gotta lvoe all this project lark though :)
ok, my ignition barrel has 4 wires, red, black, black/white, green.
it will fire up and run without any of them connected to anything, put red and black together to give the electrics (lights/etc) green and black/white make no difference at all. ive put the switch between green and b/w and got nothing either, rather strange, i hope the ignition barrel will work once its wired up :)

mmmm.what happens if you short any of them to earth directly...do the red one last as i think it might be carrying voltage..if youve got a meter or bulb check for volts or earth..if it lights after connecting any wires to earth...one wire may be common to other ones need to find which ones go to earth and which carry voltage..not sure if one maybe a park light switch wire and the others share an earth.if youve gotta diagram i could have a look and see what i think..email me it if you like... jimbellinger@yahoo.com

black/white and green looks like its the kill and other is ignition as youve got it now..try the kill after youve disconected the ignition side and if it works i can tell you how to wire it in on a double pole double throw switch (dpdt switch) and do away with the barrel alltogether..but if it dont work after disconnecting the ignition wires ..ide say you got a wireing prob on that circuit

green goes to earth and b/w to cdi..red goes to battery and black is the wireing loom feed from the barrel to all the lights etc..so if you go to the cdi and find the b/w wire and connect a switch to earth from it you should have a cutout or use a meter and trace it back to any connectors and do a switch at that connector....if it works as a b/w + green after ignition disconect, whoo hoo.. if not..short b/w to earth after ignition disconnect..

b/w +green =cutout... black+red is ignition ..disconect that before trying the blk/green ...or try shorting the b/w to handle bars or good earth.might have bad connection on the green wire to earth

or you could put a wire on the coil power feed and use a switch to short that to earth..but not too sure if that wouldnt blow a fuse unless you disconnect ignition first

theres a green wire and a black/yellow wire on the diagram that goes to the coil...short the black/yellow to earth..after ignition disconect.that should do it
