hi guys,

I friend of mine gave me hes Honda SFX 50 but its damage so i want to fix it. i have been trying to look for a replacement part from ebay and everywhere else but it seems like no one is selling it. so I thought of fixing it instead if i cant find a shop to buy the shocks. the forks it self is alright but the stem is bent. according to my friend the crash was not that hard but he manage to bent the forks. i look at the frame and there is no sign of the frame being damage or bent.

here is the picture of the fork:

does anybody know where I can buy them? if not does anybody know how to straighten a fork?

You won't be able to straighten that.

You could try keeping an eye on ebay or the local breakers for some used ones but i think you'd be doing well to get anything...i don't think theres any aftermarket alternatives at any rate.

Have you thought about going to your Honda dealer and just buying the stem?

Yamaha will do an Aerox stem for around £150 so i'd expect Honda to be similar price.

Not exactly cheap but cheaper than a new bike!

Other than that you could investigate swapping the forks off another bike but thats a bit trial and error so unless you have the free money to try it i'd just go to Honda.

What year is the bike?

I have not looked at the paper works, but it has an 03 plate. £150 is out of my budget. i just saw a complete SFX on ebay for £160 if i have the money i would go for that instead. lol. what do you think about straightening it? blowtorch it then bend it back?

you could probably get a stem made at a local engineers and pressed in for way less than that price

shop around the local industrial estates and offer cash in hand if you dont know any engineers

You might be in luck - theres also a guy on ebay who appears to be breaking an sfx50.

Try sending him a message and see if hes got the stem;

I've dealt with this guy lots of times and his prices are always good/quick delivery.

If he doesn't have an sfx one ask if hes got anything else Honda that might fit - he breaks a lot of scooters so might have something close. You might need to give him the dimensions (stem diameter, distance from yoke to threads etc).
