Aprilia sr50 Motard.

Hi All.!! Recently i purchased a 5o cc Aprilia Motard, 2T..to commute to work,as i don't want to spend hours on traffic. Is a new bike with restriction to 30.i realised i need to keep up with the traffics so need more speed..-)). Because of the warranty the dealer not able to derestrict the bike.. So i need some help please..many thanks in advance.( just realised not in the right place posted.)

 

If you want to keep the warranty then leave it alone!

The hell with the waranty.
I don't know your ped but there are two things you need to do:
Remove the variator pulley and take off the restrictor ring that stops it opening up.
Remove the standard exhaust and replace with a propper expansion chamber exhaust.
Unless you have a pneumatic wrench and a box of jets/ rollers, this will require assistance.

Find a good garage - and discover what you've been missing!

 

The std pipe work's very well once derestricted, upjet from a 53 to 58-60 with std pipe, also remove brass plate from carb mouth, thn washer out the variator. If it goe's bang then it on your own back to fix it.

Brass plate in the carb mouth? That's a new one on me! So the intake is restricted? Explain please!

 

On a lot of Piaggio engined scooters (sr 50, nrg, zip)there's a gold coloured plate on the mouth of the carb with a 3-4 holes in it, this is a restriction. I can put up a photo of one if you want?

After 3 minutes on vid there is the plate.

 

Basically the guy derestrict a Gilera runner 50 cc.

 

That's the plate I remember!

 

-) Hope this helps you..the guy just taking of the factory restrictions and the bike does around 50-55 MPH.you can that vid as well.
