I will do the crank this weekend, i will i will i will i will i will If anybody breaks theirs.....................friggin tough!!!!!!!!!!
And i've just had a call of the father.....................can i go over tomorrow and help him fix the fence that has blown down in the wind......................it's a conspiracy i tell you.
I do this amazing thing when I don't want to get disturbed... I turn my phone off I unplug the landlne and I don't answer the door
Yeah, but if i do that then the mother worries. And she is liable to come over just to check on me because i didn't answer the phone. Mom is 76 and dad is 83. And they both think i'm the one who needs looking after.
cant get on Skype at the mo, im on my laptop because my desktop has decided to blow its power supply, replacing it now, ill have a peek later, been tempted to get one myself
Still got the 1100, although i still need to look at the clutch. Usable but not as good as i would like. And, me try to find the time to go for a social ride out???????? OOOH LOOK..............A FLYING HUMP BACK WHALE
possible worn clutch? youd just leave me behind on it be a very long time until bella is on the road, needs brakes doing and i dont get paid now until 23rd dec. that was a nice flying hump back whale
Clutch is brand new, metal plates and fibre ones. Talking with the kwakie dealer spanners a couple of weeks ago, he reckons it could be the metal plates, so, will change them back to the older plates and see what happens. If it is that, i'm going to have a blazing row with EBC. £138 for a complete clutch.
id be going mental too at that price ! im guessing that if it is the metal plates youll be demanding your money back?
Can't believe it's been a month since i updated this thread!!! So......had a little op at christmas which gave me the reason to have nearly a month off work. WAHEY Not going back til the 20th of Jan, which gave me plenty of time to do "stuff". So, last Friday, after fixing every other scooter in the neighbourhood, i finally get round to stripping the Katana engine down (again) and replacing the crank for the new one i bought on November 22nd. Put it in, tightened up the cases, starter motor in, carb on, filter on, stator and flywheel, build it up on the bench and then into the bike complete. Come to fit the starter ring and variator, can't! Something wrong here, why is it touching the casing inside??? And the starter bendix wont even think about catching that edge there................. So left it alone for the day, its getting late anyway. Went out next morning, thought sod it, lets have it out again and see whats going on. Out it comes, placed it next to the old crank and spotted that the new crank is missing a spacer collar on the variator side. Without that, you can't fit anything that side. Just wont work. So spoke to the supplier and they have agreed to send me another, that they have checked and has the collar, and if its ok they will arrange to get the other back. One day, i will have this bloody thing finished. Then watch some bugger wreck it, just like the last one. Oh yeah, and i dont know how, but the damn thing fell off the ramp overnight as well. So i now have panels to re-spray again.
I'm fed up of this now!!!! New replacement crank arrived, yay, it's got the collar on; Cant fit it though........the friggin webs are too big for the case! So.........drastic measures are now called for. Will post photos later.
Close............but no cigar. Briefly thought about having the cases machined.............na, not worth it. Here's a couple of photos of the collar in place and the oversized webs Right then, only one thing for it..................where's that angle grinder?????? AHA! That got the bugger Once the collar was off the old crank, slipped very nicely onto the new one, sorry not got a photo of it, got carried away with doing the job. Needless to say, the lump is all built up again and into the bike, the starter ring now fits properly, as does the variator, one thing though, cant find the starter bendix! I've got three here on the bench, and all of them are too long. Will continue to catch the ring gear after starting the engine. Never mind, kick start works just fine, shall have to use that for now. Strange little instance that had me concerned slightly, when the inner crank seal was fitted, variator side, there are 3 on this engine, it made turning the engine by hand a lot tighter than i would have liked. It will probably loosen up slightly with use, i hope, and it doesn't really detract from starting the bike with the kick start, so not majorly concerned. Put the standard intake pipe and carb on, just to get it running, didn't want to start at all. Just gave the occasional cough as if it wanted to go, then nothing. Took it all off, changed the intake manifold for the rubber conversion, fitted the 17.5mm dellorto with a 60 main jet, open filter, few kicks later, off it went. Lumpy as hell at the moment, needs to go up a few sizes in jet, but had it idling quite nicely. Happier days ARE on the horizon
WHADDYA MEAN...............I HAVE ISSUES????????? There is nothing wrong with my issues.................they are all exactly where they are supposed to be...............at the bottom of my beer glass
