After seeing Henry Favre on instantgram, I decided to get my ass into gear and plan a ride. I missed out on the distinguished gentlemans ride this year because of bike trouble. (The custom cub was 99% done and the clutch went, so I took the VF which overheated halfway...) So I am going to raise money for cancer charities on this ride. So far a rough plan has formed. Krystall rally here in Norway. In February. Its about 400km east of where I live. Over the fjord, then over the mountains. Look at Norway on a map. I live near Bergen. Anyway. The plan is this. My tomos. No GPS. As many back roads/cycle paths as possible. No fancy pants anything. Just extreme weather, a shit bike, lots of snow and ice. To give you an idea of just how extreme this rally is, the swedish riders fit skis to their bikes. The mountain roads can be closed under 30meters of snow. Temps can drop to well below minus 20.... Oh and I have mobility problems (I use a wheelchair sometimes). Currently the tomos is in a thousand bits in my basement. Not even sure my winter tyres have any studs left.
It does have a new set of clutch pads though! (Both gears) I have some new brake shoes and a new chain and sprocket to fit aswell. Did I mention I cant actually feel anything in my hands? Frostbite could be a real problem here....
sounds good love the great outdoors, might be good to pal up with someone just incase with those conditions just looked it on yt, yep all snow and ice I seen you have warm clothes and maybe one of thoese enduro helmets, guess u probs do living in Norway. I guess if allowed can you take someone to follow in car idk. still looks great fun.
Thought I replied... I have a buddy who I normally lend a moped to. I think he will be up for it with me
