ive got a 2006 aerox with a gianelli extra chrome and 4.2 gram malossi rollers, i want my bike going quicker than it is but i dont want to put a 70 kit on it and i want it to remain as reliable as possible, anyone got any suggestions? i was going to put on a race air filter and upjet it but was told this would just end up making it blow up ..
oh and its not the money thats the issue with a 70 kit i just dont want it to be a 70, so if a sports 50kit could be used with whatever else to get good performance? i just dont want the thing to blow up 5 mins aftyer something gets put on it lol
a cast iron 70 kit will be as reliable maybe even abit more than the standard one, as long as its set up tight it wont blow up so lighter rollers and upjetting
open airfilters are useless dont bother getting one
Nothing will blow up immediately if its ran in properly and on an appropriate setup. my mate has an aerox with a malossi race 50 and it does like 70 mph. he has. primary gear up. 17.5 ml dellorto carb. polini speedclutch. race rollers 3.7s and tighter clutch springs. he has a zx chrome with that also. however he could do with a decent variator.
ive been thinking about it since last night, looking at various other topics and bore kit prices etc and ive decided a 70 would be fine, i was looking at the malossi sport 70 kit and maybe changing to a laser x pro exhaust? combining the two is reccomended on scooter attack and it also says that a standard carb upjetted would be fine, would just like some opinions on this and what the jet size should be increased to?

I would suggest you spend a little more on the 70 kit and go for an alloy kit, twin ring or reliability.
something like an MHR rep or a polini corsa kit (also the athena kits are supposed to be very under rated)
if i were doing what you are i would go:
MHR rep or equivlent
Yasuni City16 pipe (e marks keeps the plods happy and power up)
21mm carb
multivar
NEW BELT
set of clutch springs, box of jets and a couple of sets of rollers to mix and match. you could work it without the 21mm if your'e strapped for cash but you WILL need to do a lot of messing about with carb, roller and clutch setup.
