It's 2003, So I basically use the tool to get the flywheel Nut off after taking off the water pump and all that, Then basically the the stator and flywheel slide off and that's it for that side?

There's two types of pullers for the flywheel one which screws into a thread in the centre of the flywheel and one which uses two bolts which thread into the holes used by the waterpump drive pegs. If your flywheel is threaded in the centre hole you need the first type, if it isn't like mine, the second type.

You undo the flywheel nut then use the puller to remove the flywheel . the stator is then held on by a few allen nuts. Next remove a gasket and then the oil pump and drive cog. It;s all very basic just keep everything in orfer and dont lose the woodruff key which locates the flywheel.
When I replaced my crank I found that the grove for the woodruff key in the new crank was narrower than the key itself so the key had to be trimmed to fit.
