I can't believe how dirty the engine was before you pulled the inlet!!! There is visible crap inside it already. :w00t:
tha's why me and tweak charge extra to rebuild a dirty engine. 1 speck of grit can cause havoc in there. but this is why british scooter tuning isn't anywhere near as refined as the euros. Its all about attention to detail.
its not my fault its so dirty and in a shit state. its the previous owners, like frainey who didnt have a clue about how to do simple maintenace tasks... such as clean carb, clean beneath the plastics.. duh!!! they just thought cleaning the fucking plastics would be enuff... :msn1:
you are meant to clean the shit off the engine before pulling it apart, thats what we are getting at. it don't really matter to me and i wasnt trying to start an argument.
ALL pistons are silica alloy...unless your running drop forged and only iron kits can take that kind of abuse.. nicosil is too fragile
true.. i dont think ill b getin ma hands on a drop forged piston soon anyway. im gona get a polini sport then begin to port that step by step.. need better weather aswell tho..
Dont blame me dickhead, im not the one who rides through fields on a fucking scooter. Think before you comment. :rtfm:
Before you ask to lend my dremmel again read up about porting unless you want a piston up your shitter.
practicing porting on a 4t head? what exactly have you practiced seeing as theyre completely different... edit - pardon my snappiness, i just know that frainey was well alright to you when he sold you the rox and you had problems or whatever, and then you go and slate him on a website to try and earn some respect off the members or something? get none from me for shit like that, just my 2pence worth.
just usin the diffrent bits.. just portin intake. thers bout 50 difrent bits with ma dremel.. its how i learn trial n error..
i guess, rather learn on an old 4t head then on a brand new barrel, should still be wary of doing your own work, i know its tempting to grab a dremel and go at a new barrel, but id say practice on an old barrel first. that way you can test it as well.
got about 5 old ones that i fucked up before i started getting usable results. every time you catch the nicasil on an alloy its a 90% chance you'll need it re-plating.
i know. thats y im usin my old cylinder heads and stuff. i need alot of practice and some decent files.. wot about polishin. do i need to polish the ports?? thanks..
i aint slatin no one swift lad. n wtf respect gotta do with it, wot? can u earn kudos or sum shit in ere.. new 2 me..
sometimes respect means a lot to people, and sometimes respect over the internet translates if you ever meet people from here. as for polishing, i dont usually bother because it removes the point of atomisation in the carb, as the mixture can cling to the port walls, like rain to a windscreen.
i dont fink i'll probly ever meet any of u guys anyway.. o yeh. ill just smoothen then but not polish it.. its a skill i wana learn..
i also notcied this. he seemed to be alright with you then everytime you say anything bout the rox you call the last owner a nob head or he ddint know what he was doing or something. :wtf: and what you gaining from saying all this ?
