p.s i see you have a rd350 might i ask how is it as ive been thinking of putting one of those lumps in my mito but fear its not powerful enough i see you also have an rs so you should be able to have a good overview on both bikes steve
basically you can alter the port heights and widths by grinding them larger (or porting) it goes well, 60ish BHP standard, its plenty for a mito, i actually have the same project in mind (got the bits, just waiting for the time to do it) as i have the NC30 swinger conversion to do to my other RD first. the RD engine is increadibly tunable, you can take it upto around 140bhp with the 610 kit then if you start adding turbos (initially designed for banshees) then 200bhp isnt out of the question, however i think it would snap a mito, a stock rd lump is about right unless you want to start modding the chassis a lot. a pair of jim lomas GP style pipes work well with the conversion. edit: i have SRs, used to have an RS but i decided it was far too unreliable and pointless as i had a full liscence.
packoing plate just raises the ports half the increase of the stroke.. so this moves it sort of in the right place so the piston dont hit the head but the ports are now smaller by scale by the difference in stroke top an bottom...
basically you've added 3mm of extra stroke to play with, which means each stroke has a longer durationg, which means port durations can be longer and so ports can be bigger, port widths arent as directly influenced by the crank coversion, its more timings and durations as ports are opening and closing at different degree's of the cranks revolution. its hard to get to grips with, but the concept itself is quite simple i guess.
yeah i get the grasp of things now am buying a book on 2t tuning as well so hopefully will be top notch soon wobbley i wil have a spare mito frame in a couple of months if ur intrested yeah cheers i knew about tuning the rd 350 lump however never knew about the turbos never really thought turboing a 2t would wrk properley to be honest also sw1ft can i ask why thats your name cheers steve
you getting two-stroke performance tuning by A.G. Bell? its good fuck knows why my name is sw1ft haha, its anyones guess, why?
getting a american one and the one from a.g bell got a couple of books from him make a good read cool i thought you might have the car as in swift steve
