2stroke crankcase information gilera/piaggio/italijet

    Hi hope you guys are enjoying your scootering more than me. Got a cracked engined been reading through old chats on here and online still am comeing up with different opinions so can a gilera/piaggio engine guru please tell me if the rolling nut and non rolling nut cranckases are the same or different and how. would really apreciate it. Some say its fine u just chamge a bearing and gears and its all goood others say its a bodge. Many thanks in advance

    Anyone know if the non rolling nut and rolling nut crankcase is the same

    The cases are different, it's in the gearbox area. The non rolling case has a bearing at the end of the input shaft and gearbox cover plate, the rolling nut case has not as it relies on the gearbox cover and the outer cover as it's second support bearing. Plus the rolling transmission cover has a bolt through the middle of it. The non rolling engine is a good engine case ! You could get away fitting a rolling nut gearbox/cover into a non rolling case but not the other way round. I don't have any issues with non rolling cases !
