4 Strokes do need rebuilding at major services. Its being re-built mainly for peace of mind, its due a service later this year anyway. Its making a lot more power than when it was standard (about 8hp at the wheel stock to 16hp now) so will need a bit more maintenance than a standard bike.

think i'll just stick to a 210, pipe and filter then. keep an eye on the oil. been saving for an rc45 for a year, dont want to spend much on the vx :( bet i end up with another nc35 :(
    nice vx though :)

The 210 really needs to be fitted with the gear up, otherwise it revs to high which is not good for the engine.

thats why i think they go pop

another thing that worried me looking at stats dave is that flat out a 200vxr revs to 8500rpms and a 125 revs to 9700rpm so are you sure the kit can handle them revs

Gilera limit the bikes to 10k rpm so they obviously can take it. Rev's lower with taller gearing anyway.

Not with 125 gearing, any half assed tech centre will warn against fitting just a 210 to a 125 leader motor. Malossi Stuff is generally very well built and will take more abuse than the standard kit.
