only reason it beats them is the gearing.. put the same gearing in a 172 as in a 180 and the 172 will whopp it...

    180's just plain suck

Thank you. That is why I wanted a 172 so badly.
A friend of mine had a 172 on a 180 with a scorp, not too sure about the carb, never looked tbh, but according to my bro he was out with and he had a race with a R1 I think it was, not sure, one7twoboi was on the 172 and apparently it was on its arse till 55-60(estimate), obviously they both beat the 172 LOL.

Edit: That dont make sence, basically, the 180 with 172 was right on the R1/6's arse

    yup.
is there any differance in crank size between 125 and 180?
because I was wandering why there is more compression on 125 cases.
Also, would 180 cases be stronger? or not at all?

cases are the same prittymuch, except for the extra missing material to fit the bigger barrel. theres some deep scalops inside the case. the first 180's had a bigger crank but same stroke altho piaggio list both as the same item so must have ben the first of em with the bigger crank. lower compression with a 172 slapped on so need a ful circle crank and the scalops refilled with ckemical metal/weld and then ground properly (just like any 125 case needs to get the best from a 172)

172 has been fitted. Run in fine, needs lighter rollers an stiffer clutch springs, oh yeee and re-jetting. but it seems okay for the time being, it doesn't bog at all, but just feels like it needs to be jetted correctly if you get what I mean?

im not a fan atall tbh...

altho people dont realise these engines were desighned as a 150 not a 125 so the 172 is probably about right for them... casings are SO much better on the 125's (big scallops missing out of the 180 engine to fit the barrel skirt inside the case.. )

    LMAO.

I've put 20.5mm carb back on, 88 jet and I've put airbox on.
Haven't got a clue weather or not it rides as exhaust bolts have vibrated off :(
And haven't got any of the tools I need here to put new ones on. one7twoboi has them all :(

It starts and revs fine, just a bit loud so haven't ridden it lolololol.
