    My electrics were surprisingly clean, looked more like they'd all been dry stored for years, small amounts of corrosion and dust mainly, think I cracked it today though,
    The 2 wires I was most unsure about come from the engine and connect right next to eachother, I'd forgot which one was which PLUS the wire from my brake switch was shorting out on the rim, so I started it up (with some phatt piece of wire bridging the fuse socket :rolleyes:) and the points were sparking like mad and my piece of wire was getting very warm indeed o_O

    So I taped up the brake switch wire that was shorting and changed round the connectors and it seems okay, it just keeps bogging so I'm going to clean out the carb... After WatchDog

    My present melody loom looks like something out of Indiana Jone's rubbish bin-
    but it's grunge/oily/weather sealed an works bar rear indies.,
    Nos one,taping faded.but when unwrapped like straight off the assembly line-
    was a pukka buy/though sometimes you take chances cause of where or how stored +
    there are some real classic mob a......s that try to charge the earth!!,
    Fingers Xx'd have sights on Nos carb.for the vision next week (£50.00 / retail £217.0++!!). :) .

    50 for a Melody carb? :eek: Although I do remember needing a new autochoke unit and it being something stupid like £20 in '09
