well if you do wat ur trying to explain oliwest, best way is dip end of spark plug in fuel and 5ml of oil thro hole and then start it so not running on pure petrol or fucked piston rings
Ok so state of play is i dipped the spark plug in petrol, IT STARTED!!! then died straight away...the plug gets wet so i don't understand why it won't start of its own accord. Iv had the fuel tap off and can blow through it so that's not blocked, im now thinkin should i take off the carb and check the jets are clear?? Come on lads iv got this far with your help lets see if we can bring it home haha really want this running so i can see what all this fuss is about 70kits are about!!! I really appreciate the help lads
have you altered the jetting for the 70 kit? the auto choke will always be on until warmed up, so if its faulty it will stay on and flood the bike. i found if this is the case leave it a day of not kicking and give it a kick after a day, if the chokes faulty itl fire for a second and die. if thats the case fit a manual choke if it fired with the wet plug then its a fuelling issue, check jetting, airbox and fuel filter
It had a 70 kit on when i got so done know about the jet im gonna go and take the carb off and see if anything is blocked, its been left for days and still nothing, it doesn't even feel like it wants to start i got a real shock when it started there when i take the pipe off the fuel tap should petrol pour out? Cheers
dude if u put petrol on end of spark plug, Well done for listening alot just think fuck it wont work. now take your carb off give really good clean and see if u can find out jet size maybe too small for set up
Ill try anything this damm thing is giving me a headache just wish it was less of a fuck on!! Im gonna check jet size if its printed and also check for any blockage, also iv took the outlet pipe off the petrol tap and no petrol come out of the connection to the pipe to
On the fuel tap there is an extra connection below the mam outlet...what is it and where does it go to?? Also how do i know oil is getting to the piston???
the fuel tap is vacuum fed bud, the idea is as the bike turns over it drraws air which causes the fuel line to suck fuel. Fuel shouldnt leak much from the tap if at all unless u suck on the vacum line, in which case it should pee out. you can buy a tap that has a simple on and off and so is gravity fed but yours should work.
Ok so..i have just put a vacuum pipe from tap to carb and cleaned the (i think) 58 size jet and sprayed carb cleaner all over the inside and got lots of sediment into a tub. IT STARTED AND ITS RUNNING THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD YOU LOT ARE INVALUABLE... only thing is clocks don't show rev or fuel amount, do i need to attach the battery for these to work??? Thanks again i am really grateful
for the fuel yes battery is needed, id imagine the revs too but im not 100%, glad its running now. simple reason was no fuel getting too plug.
