have you tested it properly (connect it to bike battery to see if the pin moves up and down freely) if not id do that as it sounds like its not...
sounds to me like the auto choke is sticking mate you can buy manuel choke conversions or replacement for quite cheap

yeah mate they are a good exhaust , technigas are cheaply made and are not the best tbh , happy riding fella :)

can it be repaired ? rather spend a fiver on some exhaust paste or chemical weld then spend over 100 quid on a new pipe mate not trying to talk...
because different exhaust's have different power bands , and require a certain roller weight to enable the engine to hit the revs required to hit...
