Tbh mate as I never did it to mine I couldn't say, as for the screws they shouldn't put up much of a struggle and you could just drill and retap...
My first scooter was a slider good bit of kit feels nice to flick around in traffic had to sort the exhaust on mine as it rotted on the downpipe...
Best way to get trust back in the bike is go out for a good long run with it, take it out for a weekend book a cheap b&b somewhere a good run...
Just signed up to this forum seen as it seems to have a decent set of users who use it on a regular basis. I use to own an X reg Yamaha EW50...

Cheers mate, I think the reason is most people stick with the easier to tune 2T's or with the 4T's they just buy a 100 or 125 engine or just trade...
Looking good mate, wire wheel the frame to metal and get some red oxide on, that will keep the rust at bay better than just paint and its a lot...
