Yea speedos are common mate I bet its snapped off about an inch worth of cable at the wheel end :D there fairly cheap. Plug might have coroded...

Personaly mate I don't use halfords for scooter parts as there more of a car place. I use the likes of adrenelinrpedstop or pedparts etc there...
If your a novice, get use to the scooter first mate before even thinking of modding it. Tips and advice for riding are best sought from the likes...
