I doubt it mate just suck on the vaccum and see how quick the fuel comes out should be ok though :)

To check seals you dont usually have to split the cases and try putting a little bit of petrol straight into barrel and try and fire it up check...
If i wasnt raining or if you havnt drove through a puddle of anything then it could only be petrol was it just on the float bowl or all over your carb

Possibly shot out of your exhaust and hit someone in the face!
Looks pretty tidy pal but not too keen on the 100 front panel 50 looks better :P
