probably from the auto choke, try to reconnect them that may have an effect on the running issue.
Are these wires on the carb?? if so could be from the auto choke. I would try goin up a size on the jet might slightly lean.
is the bike bogging on full throttle??
whatevers easiest for you i suppose, i got a athena cdi on the SFX with adjustable rev limit and timing but it depends on your budget as well.
wouldnt the ignition timing controlled by the cdi??? if so get a aftermarket cdi where you can advance and retard the timing.

ive changed it from points and condenser to a electronic ignition. company in germany makes conversion kits for old bikes. never liked points...
