A black sooty plug would suggest it's running too rich, vacuum tap leaking into the carb?
The variator sleeve need's to be changed, cdi cut and bigger main jet and that's it, std rollers work fine. Should reach 40-45 mph easy!
If the piece fell out and not in then it will be fine to use as is!
You need the scissor joint and a silent block, some steel and make it up or an old frame and cut the mount off! If your competent to fit a scooter...
It might be an earth problem on the back of the speedo, the printed circuit board rot's away!

Sound's like an earthing fault to me!
Std 180 rollers are 15.5g, as for 90mph :rolleyes:, 80mph ish top speed and 70 ish cruising. Most runners speedos read way fast!

Sidestand switch? Put the side stand up.
Either get a set of right way up forks or better still buy a set of genuine forks for it!
Take the rubber inlet manifold off, pull out the reed block to make sure the reeds are not split or ends feathered.
Check the reeds to make sure there's not one broke.

That look's ok to me, just make sure the t.d.c make and 2v are lined up before you fit the chain adjuster.
