It's done by sitting on it, or from the back which is essentially the same thing anyway.
Process of elimination, if you know there's a problem solve that. If there's still a problem then look for another reason it could be doing it....
Also check your drive belt, make sure it's in good shape and that it's not slipping at all.

As brett rightly says, having no filter in it will be significantly affecting it. Put a filter in the box (Around £5 - £7) and see how it goes....
