Service the drive, likely to have naffed rollers etc... Cant do mush to make them faster , its a commuter bike not track bike
How much freeplay is at the leaver ? Too much i'm guessing ? Adjust the freeplay and report back

The second filter you are talking about is most probably the emisions control (waste of space) thing that comes from exhaust to engine, no use...
Even if you de-restrict a ped, you have to drop roller weights.
From what i have seen and worked on , all runner (bar the new shape) are the same (50 and 125) both fit each other.
Can make your own to suit whatever, this guy also offers different ends ....
