thanks minor helps alot. my drag 180 engine did not have a washer between the oil drive and the variator though i ran my 172 as you said a 125...
to be honest most of the problems with the old 2 strokes is the crap waterpump. as its air cooled theres not alot you need to worry engine wise....

did you not get any runner 50 forks with it then i would say thats ok as it is but get a few more cable ties so the mudguard doesnt drop on to...
how different is the nrg frame to the runner frame a runner 50 frame has the 2nd shock mount allready not sure on an nrg

check the throttle mechanism is moving freely on the top of the engine. turn the tickover up a bit and see if it stops it cutting out.
