try a new coil could be that its old and has just gave in
is the float floating in the petrol? or maybe theres a seal gone in your carb
removing the rolling nut and clutch drum shouldnt cause it not to spark, could be that youve knocked a connection loose stopping it from getting power

check you havent disturbed any wires, try another plug?
it could be the problem check if its working or not 1st, remove the fuel pipes if theres fuel flow it doesnt work
remove transmission case then remove the nut on the end of the crank that hold on the variator best to use a impact wrench or variator locking...

try upjetting? also remove your variator and check the rollers are ok

you will need to get lighter rollers and a bigger jet in the carb, to get it right either get it on a dyno or buy a set of rollers and jets then...
find the wires from the old auto choke and connect them up to your new auto choke

why dont you weld all around the patch then instead of araldite? if youve got access to the equipment then why bodge it
have you used normal araldite? and what have you tacked the patch on with? use vht spray paint or heat resistant hammerite also whyd you post it...
