is the kick start returning to its rest position easily..they tend to seize up on the through shaft of the casing...this makes the bendiz throw...
could spray some easi-start around. If the revs rise in a certain place there may be a leak there BTW 2stroke...is that a KE125 in your avatar?

with a simple screwdriver type circuit tester, check theres power to the +ve where it goes into the light connector, clip the croc clip to earth...
The only chance of a piston stopper damaging the piston is if the pin at the end were to go through the top of the piston when pressure is applied...
but to do that you need to be able to lock the crank :rolleyes: OP, for what they cost and the amount of times you'll need the crank locking it...
ideally if you could ever find one for a second hand scoot would be the OEM tool kit. They used to have all the basic tools to be able to carry...
its only cosmetic and doesnt give any protection from the elements but looks well IMHO. The can was polished up using mops and cutting compound...
