Just to add to this for the fist couple of coats of primer if you spray them as very light mist coats and do not try to cover in primer all in one...
Have you checked the loom for signs of it rubbing through anyware? this could be causing earths to become lives but they would still test fine...

Another easy good cleaning fluid is petrol!! Cleans better than most things to be honest it just costs a fortune!!
