shouldnt have had an advise on no mirrors!! not required for the test. nothing should be removed by the tester on an MOT.
both gear up kits and stunts??? i would stick back the original gearing and start from there.
if the relay is clicking it sounds as though it could be ok?? i would see if you have power coming from the relay to the starter, could be starter...
