if you buy a brand new frame you should be able to stamp it up with your vin number but it would be an idea to get a receipt from the main dealer...

undo the screw at the bottom of the float bowl with something under the overflow pipe to catch whatever comes out, if it looks like it has water...
it could have melted the piston or worse case, out a hole in it. that was the reason i sugested a compresion test. you could try cranking it over...
