if the crank is nice and free with no tight spots,play or lift i would have thought its ok,iv'e rebuilt loads of 2smokes after a lot worse than...

are you saying that your'e going to convert an air cooled engine to water cooled :scratch: that is the correct part for a water cooled engine.
nips up and frees off is exactly as it says.. its not one where you have to knock the piston down or barrel off with a hammer... you can still...
the one i did last week had nipped up,freed off and still had what you would think was decent compression but not enough to draw petrol out of...
