Put the standerd pipe back on ;)
if you had an airbox on and put a pit bike filter on it wont work without changing jetting, get a standerd box mate ;)
if its all standerd i wouldent change the jetting.
the cable should not affect the reading, did you change the speedo drive aswell? if you have a satnav test your speedo with that :)
