you wanna remove your carb from the inlet maifold and take the float bowl OFF and clean its as by just doing the drainage screw it just drains it...

resisitors keep the power steady or summat lol only thing it could be is it is actually powering from the alternator

there wouldnt be resistors in them you need to buy the inline ones well at least i think there wouldnt be lol

yes you dont need to drain the petrol tank just disconect the lines from the carb take the float bowl off the carb and drain the diesel that will...
your running them from the alternator so its a alternating current not direct
have you tried a new cdi ?
