On Friday I stripped my old rusty forks off the Runner and fitted the forks i tidied up. I think the replacement forks were off a Piaggio NRG....

yes It is possible that the pre mixed oil combined with the oil from the pump is now too much oil.
Firstly replace the plug... The autolube tank is just a vessel for storing oil, If you over fill it, it wont have any effect on the amount of oil...
some of them have gone rusty from being stored in a damp shed, which is a shame.
